1.1. DESIGN
Ensure the design and monitoring of process diagrams related to the scope of the projects entrusted to him/her,
Design installations and components that meet the needs of:
- Regulatory requirements (applicable standards,…), Contractual requirements (orders, specifications, customer specifications),
- Technical requirements (operating needs, conditions of use, operability of installations, location, manufacturing, technical constraints, etc.),
- QHSE requirements, HAZOP study.
- Description Processes, PFD – Process Flow Diagram (PCF), Material and thermal balances,
- Utilities and chemical product balances,
- PID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) process and utility,
- Equipment and instrument specifications, simulations and calculations,
Carry out technical comparisons of supplier offers – TCT: Technical Comparative Table, analyze the Calls for Tenders of projects and proposals concerning his/her discipline in support of the Project Managers.
Be able to participate in the pre-start-up and start-up stages (pre-commissioning/commissioning).
Quantify or check with his/her supervisor the budget of hours necessary in his/her specialty and inform on additional needs or changes.
Supervise the work of the design office in relation to its activity.
Define the interfaces between his/her specialty and other fields of activity and inform each specialty about changes made to the interfaces.
1.2. REPORTING
Report to the Project Manager.
Participate in internal coordination meetings and inform project stakeholders on all technical, financial, contractual and deadline developments.
Solicit internal or external customers about current or future needs.
As part of his/her missions, respond to customer requests on the feasibility of projects, alone or in collaboration with the Project Manager.
2. SKILL AND QUALITIES REQUIRED
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Chemical Engineering or similar
High level of technical knowledge
Ability to work in a team, in coordination with the disciplines and specialties involved in a project, and to communicate
Analytical skills, critical thinking, Structured and rigorous
Creative in finding the solution to a given problem
Ability to analyze and interpret technical documents (codes, standards, decrees,..)
Technical English required
Software:
Hydraulic calculations: AFT Suite: Fathom, Arrow, Impulse
Sizing of flare networks: FLARENET
General Thermodynamic Simulations: HYSYS, PRO II
Thermal Sizing or Verification: ASPEN EDR
HAZOP Review Animation: HAZOP MANAGER
Basic theoretical knowledge of design methods and tools Processes: calculation of the head of pumps or compressors, heat exchanges in exchangers, valve Cv (flow coefficient), orifice diameter, etc. for use on the Microsoft Office suite
3. EXPERIENCE
10 years of experience with an ability to manage projects of a complex nature and to supervise other Process Engineers.
